Teaching

Cecilia Vicuña currently serves on the faculty at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, with courses that include MFA Art Practice, Graduate Seminar II, and Studio Practice II. She is also the co-founder of the Oysi School, a floating 'school' dedicated to empowering the oral traditions of indigenous communities, and she  continues to teach workshops and seminars throughout the U.S. and Latin America. 

In recent years, Vicuña has taught workshops and seminars at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University; Denver University; the University of Pennsylvania; the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas, at the Universidad de Buenos Aires; the Festival de Poesía de Medellín at SUNY Purchase; Bates College; Cornell University; Ithaca College; the Just Buffalo Literary Program in Buffalo, NY; The Abrons Center at Henry St Settlement, New York; Pratt Institute; CUNY; and the St. Mark's Poetry Project at the Poets House in New York. In 1976 and 1977, respectively, she taught courses in Art History at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá, Colombia, and courses in Poetry at ARKE, Universidad Libre de Bogotá, Colombia.
